Marsa Marlaz Kempinski


When did you join Kempinski? 

I joined as General Cashier and Paymaster at Kempinski Residences & Suites Doha in 2017. After a year, I was transferred to Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha as Cluster General Cashier and Paymaster, and in 2020 I got promoted to Senior Accountant. 

As an accountant, I feel important and empowered and know that I play a vital role in the finances of the business. I have previously worked in an auditing firm and advertising company, but being with Kempinski is different because it is a big chain of hotels and has unique hotels around the world. The uniqueness of Kempinski and its property is what makes Kempinski so special, and there is an opportunity for self-growth.

By showing the utmost dedication and commitment in that role, she was later transferred to Marsa Malaz Kempinski in 2018, to handle the general cashiering and cluster payroll function of both hotels along with the managed outlets which are part of Marsa Malaz.  Any moments at Kempinski you want to share?

My most memorable Kempinski moment was when we were once doing the month-end closing. The chef passed by our office and saw us still working at 2:00am. After a few minutes, he came back with a tray of sandwiches, which he had made for us. And at that moment, I realised that we were not just colleagues but a family. 

How has working at Kempinski had an impact on your day-to-day life, either personally or professionally? 

Working at Kempinski has developed me professionally and to think strategically. This has helped me to find the right balance of mind, which is crucial, especially for my position.  

Any two unknown facts about your hotel?

First, Marsa Malaz Kempinski’s strategic location resembles a pearl, which has a great significance in the history of Qatar. Second, The Horse sculpture outside Marsa Malaz Kempinski is made of bronze, and it took over a month to be fully assembled.

She is currently undergoing training in month-end closing procedures and reporting, which will allow her to reach the next level within Kempinski. Camille is a classic example of how to grow at Kempinski by upholding the Kempinski values and DNA. Her colleagues admire her attention to detail and the guidance she has given to the team and often refer to her as ‘Ms Congeniality, Anoop, Director of Finance Marsa Malaz Kempinski.
