When did you join Kempinski?
I joined Siam Kempinski as part of the pre-opening team back in 2010 as Assistant Director of Sales. A year later, I was promoted to Director of Sales and have now taken responsibility as Director of Sales & Marketing since 2019.
My most memorable Kempinski moment was being a part of the pre-opening team – the start of a successful journey of the hotel. The grand opening event of the hotel was magnificent. We had beautiful performances from Kempinski hotels all around the world and it is still the talk-of-the-town event to this day.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
My favourite thing about my job is the team – that I am able to lead and to coach them and see them grow in their career. The hidden treasures of Siam Kempinski are “The People” that craft all beautiful moments for our guests and the people that consistently live the spirit of Kempinski.
We have a very united Sales & Marketing team; one so professional in what we are doing. We laugh and we cry together and we are ready to pull someone up when they are down. My favourite team moments are when we continuously overcome all our internal disagreements, when we are able to talk openly about all the challenges with the respect that we have for each other, to always find the best solution as a team.
What does beautiful performance mean to you?
A great example would be during Covid times; despite all the challenges, the team managed to deliver a beautiful performance. Often, beautiful performance is never by coincidence and is always a result of a crafted, thoughtful and well-planned process. But during these unprecedented times, we have learnt that beautiful performance is also a result of handling unexpected situations gracefully and that we are ready to take the challenge as a team who gives 200% in whatever we do and never hesitates to do the right thing.
What makes Kempinski different?
Having worked with another large brand for over five years where colleagues were not well connected due to the size of the company, I found Kempinski to be like a family. We are smaller in size but beautiful in both our management style as well as the culture of the organisation. Everyone connects with meaningful purpose to deliver exceptional and unique experiences for our guests. It is a special place where we belong and of which we are proud.
What I like about Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is the design of the hotel. As “The Oasis in the heart of Bangkok,” the city resort design combines the best of both worlds: relaxation and convenience. I fall in love every day I come to work and I feel privileged to have spent almost 12 years of my career witnessing the beauty of the hotel itself. We are located in the Royal Land where King Rama IX’s engagement ceremony took place. Several elements of the hotel are inspired by lotus as the area used to be the part of the Palace’s lotus pond.
When you are proud of where you work and you are passionate in what you are doing, you wake up every morning looking forward to coming to the hotel and making a difference in your workplace. This fulfilling feeling is a sense of achievement you have for both your personal and professional life.
Kempinski provides “freedom within the framework” and you have the ability to craft your own journey at work. You are not only the executor here – you are part of creating beautiful and memorable journeys for our guests.
