How did your career with Kempinski start and what is it like today?
My Kempinski career started back in October 2014 when I joined the team at Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol in Austria, as Groups & Events Coordinator after having successfully completed my studies in Business Administration Hotels in Germany.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Jochberg. Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol is a great property to start your career. It is a small seasonal hotel with a great hands-on team. Over two winter and one summer seasons I worked at the hotel and learned a lot within the field of Groups & Events. After a year and a half I felt I wanted to explore the world and experience a new culture.
In March 2016, with the support of my Director of Sales & Marketing, I was transferred to Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. Within six months of my arrival in the UAE, I earned my first promotion to Groups & Events Executive. Over the next two years I grew my knowledge enormously. Professionally, I experienced the organization of a great variety of events; from gala dinners, exhibitions, film premiers, to hosting Royal delegations.
On a personal level, I also grew tremendously, being surrounded by so many wonderful global cultures and colleagues. The UAE will always hold a special place in my heart.
In 2018 the company facilitated once again my move the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich where I joined as Groups & Events Manager and was recently promoted to Assistant Director of Groups & Events.
What is it like to be a part of the team at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich?
It is great, it is like working with your extended family. Within my immediate team, we are six people of around the same age. We have a great team atmosphere with a lot of friendship within the team.
We enjoy celebrating each other’s success, we have a little bell that we ring every time someone reaches an important milestone, every time someone makes a sale, and of course, we also like to celebrate things such as birthdays with a cake and a little gift. Our day-to-day is very interactive although no two days are the same.
You had the chance to go on Task Force to another Kempinski Hotel. How did you find this experience?
Yes! It was such a great experience. I was able to do five weeks of Task Force at our beautiful property in Venice at the beginning of 2019. Together with the team on-site, we revised the department set-up to ensure all processes are up to the highest brand standards. We all had a very interesting and interactive time as we also discussed many best practiced and had a great exchange of ideas and sharing of processes. A great learning opportunity for both sides.
