    This new destination, managed by Kempinski, includes 595 guestrooms and suites housed across the Sunrise Kempinski Hotel, Beijing, located along the lake, the Yanqi Hotel and 12 Boutique Hotels, located on Yanqi Island. Leisure facilities include 14 restaurants and bars, two Kempinski The Spa, a private marina, the Yanqi Pagoda, recreational and fitness facilities, a Kids Club and beautifully-landscaped natural gardens.

    With 14,069 square metres of meeting space, spread over the 8,277-square-metre Beijing Yanqi Lake International Conference Centre, and the hotels with four ballrooms and 23 meeting rooms, this new destination is designed to host high profile government conferences and is set to become the location of choice for global summits and large-scale international meetings in the region.

Duty Manager

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Rooms assess, evaluate and ensure that long-term and short-term of the department are met.  Support and assist Front Office and all Departments in the hotel to ensure a smooth, prompt and effective service to all guests. 

Direct and manage Concierge in absence of the Assistant Director of Rooms. Also need to assistant the Front Desk Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  Ensures the smooth running of the operations on a day to day basis and in a pro active manner.

  Ensures that as per Kempinski Health & Safety Policy the Fire Exits are free of obstacles.

  Support and assist all Front Office sections.

  Ensures that all guests receives prompt, cordial attention and personal recognition and resolves related problems.

  Inform and co-ordinate with other operating departments e.g. Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales and Butlers of Front Office matters which may concern them.

  Check all correspondence of the day’s arrivals to familiarize with arrived and arriving guests and their needs, follows up as required.

  Maintains appropriate standards of conduct, dress, uniforms, hygiene, appearance and posture for all departmental employees.

  Ensures that all departmental information is kept accurately and up to date.

  Promotes in house sales and facilities to maximize hotel revenues.

  Understand and carries out duties in line with Hotel Emergency Procedures.

  Inspects Front and Back of house for cleanliness, Health & Safety and reports any faults to concerned departments.

  Co-ordinates/Assists security personnel in all related matters.、

  Responds promptly to any operational requests from Front Office and other hotel departments.

  Attends to referred and unsolved problematic situations.

  Completes VIP, delegations and group leaders welcome and farewell as appropriate.

  Comprehensive knowledge of local tourist attractions, restaurants, shows, bars and night clubs.

  Extensive network in all aspects of entertainment and trendy places.

  Exceptional guest relations interaction.

  Instruct and give clear directions to guests as requested.

  Negotiate best rates for hotel guests.

  Organize and lead the concierge team, valet parking and doorman to ensure service excellence.

  Ensuring comprehensive guest support by high level management of information and sales meetings and optimal processing of tasks in the Lobby / Concierge area by agreement with the Front Office.

  Ensure the wellbeing of all personnel, compile departmental working schedules and ensure departmental meetings are held staff.

  Within the concierge area, ensure departmental orientation is carried out for new members of the team and supervise training procedures.

  Organize the transports of luggage.

  Maintain Front Office stationary stocks.

  Ensure a relational and smooth work sequence at all times.

  Follow Kempinski SOP’s at all times and ensure departmental compliance.

  Any other duties, which may be assigned to you from time to time as directed by your Supervisor or Manager.

  Perform special projects and related duties as assigned.

  Walk throughout the hotel recognizing guests and engage with them appropriately.

  Report potential and existing hazards and rectified immediately.

  Top VIPs MUST be welcomed upon arrival, escorted to their room and bid farewell upon departure.

Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel.

The job of Duty Manager is executed satisfactorily when:

Revenues, Expenses and Profit is closely monitored and budgeted figures (over)-achieved.

  Financial Policies and Procedures are supported and followed.

  Keep guests' safety, enjoyment, and satisfaction in mind.

  Be motivated by a genuine desire to serve.

  LQA (Leading Quality Assurance) audit results are 90% and above.

  ReviewPro results are 90% and above.

  ESS (Employee Satisfaction Survey) results are 90% and above.
