How did your career with Kempinski start and how has it evolved over the years?
Throughout my career with Kempinski, I have had the opportunity to work in Germany, India, as well as the United Arab Emirates and, have held different positions; from Apprentice, Lady in Red to the position of Quality Manager, which I hold today.
Upon completion of my apprenticeship in Munich, I discussed together with my General Manager what suitable next steps would be available according to my interests and personality. It is then when my transfer was proposed to go to New Delhi to continue my development as Rooms Division Management Trainee. This is not only where I developed my skills – I remember we hosted a 4,500 guest wedding – but also where I further developed as a person, making me who I am today. After a short break, I applied to the position of Lady in Red in Abu Dhabi, where I was welcomed back to Kempinski with open arms. I spent three and a half years in Abu Dhabi, where I had the opportunity and privilege of meeting persons of interest such as heads of state and celebrities amongst others. Quality as an area of influence was interesting to me, especially since as Lady in Red I had a lot of influence on the overall guest experience and eventually became my area of focus.
Today I am working as Quality Manager after transferring (once again) to Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich where I have an amazing team with a strong feeling of authenticity and teamwork that I have come across Kempinski throughout all these years.
What is your favourite “My Moment” you have experienced so far at Kempinski?
During my apprenticeship, I had the honor of meeting His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. I was holding the elevator for him, and as we crossed he took the time to talk to me, inquired about my well-being and gave me his blessing. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.
What is your favourite thing about your work?
I truly enjoy creating memorable experiences for our guests. I get a strong feeling of pride and accomplishment working for Kempinski knowing that our guests leave our hotel with a smile on their faces and looking forward to returning in the future. Up until today, guests that I had met in New Delhi and Abu Dhabi are still in contact with me and let me know whenever they are coming to Munich or any other property. This feeling of recognition and passion is one of my favourite things about my work.
