How has working for Kempinski impacted you?

I started my career with Kempinski in 1994 when I was 23 years old. I started in the Food & Beverage Department and in the first 9 years I worked in 5 different outlets. Eventually I was transferred to the Executive Floor as a Butler to be responsible for Executive Floor operations which I do until today. I have been with Kempinski Beijing for over 23 years now and it has truly enhanced my life. Our hotel team is like a family and we truly care. My leaders have always shown me that the success of the team is the best proof of their effort and cultivation and now as a leader myself, I feel the same way.

What has been your most memorable moment?

I have worked here a long time and I have many memories, but the most memorable moment for me would be the 120th Anniversary of Kempinski. At the special ceremony, I was so excited to welcome a lot of our loyal guests. Those guests treat me as an old friend and Kempinski as their second home away from home. We sang and danced together as a big family and it was a true celebration. Another time a former president gave me a hug after visiting us here in Beijing. I am so proud of my job. I do believe that the good feedback and appreciation from guests are the best gift from my work.

What is your favourite thing about Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center?

The people. I cannot be successful if my colleagues are not there to support me and here I have always felt supported. I think this is why we have a lot of loyal employees who choose to stay for a long time.
